Accessible Public Transportation

Barrier-free mobility in regular service

New Low-Floor Bus for the Municipality of Walperswil

In early December 2025, we had the pleasure of delivering the first Mercedes Sprinter 519 low-floor bus to the Walperswil municipal administration. The vehicle was specifically designed for use in public transportation and tailored to the municipality’s requirements.

With its new public bus, Walperswil is sending a strong message in support of accessible mobility in everyday life. The low-floor bus offers comfortable and easy access, especially for people with limited mobility, wheelchair users, passengers with strollers, and older passengers.

A Well-Thought-Out Solution for Regional Public Transportation

The vehicle was preceded by a planning phase that lasted several years. The goal was to develop a compact public bus that meets today's public transportation requirements while also being flexible enough for everyday use.

The low-floor area, the ramp, and the wheelchair space ensure that the bus is easily accessible to a variety of passengers. At the same time, the vehicle remains compact and maneuverable—ideal for regional routes, smaller communities, and challenging routes.

Seating for up to 24 passengers

The Mercedes Sprinter 519 low-floor bus can accommodate up to 24 passengers. It is equipped with 13 regular seats, 2 folding seats, 10 standing spaces, and one wheelchair space. If needed, 4 additional quick-release seats can be installed.

This makes the vehicle versatile and allows it to be adapted to different situations in regular service as needed.
